2024 is 100 Years since Franz Kafka’s Death!⚰️

Franz Kafka, who was born on July 3, 1883, two years before the story of 'Jekyll and Hyde' begins, died after fighting an illness on June 3, 1924, just one month before his birthday... 😢 This year, in particular, is the 100 years from Kafka's death, so let's commemorate it. For this purpose, the works by Kafka were published and special events were held for him.

The sad thing is that his father, Hermann Kafka, did not refer to his son as a ‘writer’ in his obituary... Instead, he wrote ‘Doctor of Laws Franz Kafka’.😠 (Yes, surprisingly, Kafka had a PhD!)

Why did you choose a? ✒️
- He looks lost deep in thought but at the same time lonesome and forlorn.

- I liked the first picture because it shows Franz Kafka using parchment and a pen to write a very important letter.

- I picked A because the brownish colours kind of reminded me of the colour of the leaves in autumn.

Why did you choose b? 🐞
- The image bridges the gap between the author and the character, and the pinned bug imagery has a haunting feeling.

- The illustration is beautiful, melancholic, it shows loneliness and each arrow personifies a pain in his soul.

- I think Kafka looks very lonely, depressed and even mysterious.

I experienced the death of relatives when I was very young, and at the time I didn't understand what death was and wondered why people cried at funerals. It wasn't until I grew up that I realized the meaning of 'leaving,' and I remember the people who left and tried not to get too sad.
