Some of you may have noticed the "MazM's Present" in a previous letter. In this Special MazM Letter, we’re revealing the answer to that hint. |
|
|
The answer is Romeo and Juliet, the timeless masterpiece by the English playwright William Shakespeare. This will be MazM’s next project following The Black Cat.
The "5" represents the five days of love shared between Romeo and Juliet, the heart symbolizes their love, and the vial reflects the poison and sleeping potion featured in the story. We’ve greatly enjoyed reading all your creative guesses!
Adapting Shakespeare and a theatrical script is an entirely new challenge for MazM, but we are determined to deliver an exceptional piece. Currently, Romeo and Juliet (working title) is in the stages of story and direction development.

Next week’s letter will introduce you fully to the two protagonists, Romeo and Juliet. You’ll also meet Juliet’s cousin, Tybalt, who harbors deep hatred for Romeo’s family! |

How will the story of the next project be adapted? |

MazM has connected the author’s life to their works in Kafka’s Metamorphosis, and in The Black Cat: Usher’s Legacy, MazM created an original story that reinterprets the themes of the original work in a modern way. For Romeo and Juliet, the storyline will remain faithful to the original while being adapted in a way that modern audiences can easily connect with and enjoy. We expect the love between Romeo and Juliet to be emphasized even more. |

Concept Art Reveal: Jekyll and Hyde – Early Design of Utterson |

In the early stages of creating concept art for Jekyll and Hyde, Utterson had a rounder and fuller physique compared to his current design. At that time, the character’s appearance was crafted based on descriptions from the novel. Later, Utterson's design evolved to appear younger and slimmer, while retaining the key attribute of being a “kind-hearted person.”
