Hello, this is Birdy, the representative of MazM. It’s been a while, and I’m happy to write to you again, .
We’re thrilled to present our latest game, “Romeo and Juliet”, to all MazMians! However, I also understand this news may have come as a surprise to many of you.
Originally, “Romeo and Juliet” was not included in our previously shared list of candidate titles. First and foremost, I sincerely apologize for making this decision and announcing it without prior discussion with our MazMian community. |

I’d like to make it clear that the development of “The Portrait of Dorian Gray” has not been cancelled. Many of you have been looking forward to it since it received strong support during the 2022 upcoming project poll.
We believe “The Portrait of Dorian Gray” holds deeply nuanced themes, rich with potential for compelling game mechanics and storytelling. So, rather than rushing it, we decided to postpone it until we can explore it through a more refined system.
After that decision, we began looking for a story with a more defined plotline to develop as our third title. That led us to consider “Romeo and Juliet,” even though it wasn’t initially on our list. This decision was made because we were already considering Shakespeare plays such as "Hamlet" and "Macbeth" as candidates for our next work. (By the way, we hope to share something about Hamlet when the cold winds begin to blow later this year!)
We recognize that open communication about upcoming titles is incredibly important. This time, by skipping that process, we may have caused some confusion or disappointment. Moving forward, we promise to communicate more clearly and openly about what we’re working on—and why.
We hope you’ll enjoy discovering how “Romeo and Juliet” builds on what we’ve learned from “Kafka's Metamorphosis” and “The Black Cat: Usher’s Legacy”—and we hope you’ll be just as excited about what’s coming next.

MazM’s upcoming game, Romeo and Juliet, tells the story of love that blooms amid the conflict between two rival families. Of course, we all know that Romeo and Juliet love each other, but do their families love the other family? Not so much. In fact, they absolutely despise each other and consider one another mortal enemies! |

|
"Lord Capulet," Juliet’s father, is a bold and decisive man—if we put it nicely. But on the flip side, he’s fickle and extreme. At the very least, his actions are driven by a desire to protect his family, so perhaps he deserves some leniency. 🤔
Juliet isn’t fond of her father’s temperament (even though they share many traits!). She tries to follow his wishes when possible, but she would much prefer if he asked for her opinion rather than simply making decisions for her.
What kind of trials will Lord Capulet impose on Juliet regarding marriage? Here’s a hint—he’s even more extreme and reckless than in the original play! , please have mercy on Juliet! 🥺 |
