[Hamlet 💀] Meet Hamlet, a tormented avenger torn by anguish and conflict! |

|
Hamlet, the protagonist of Hamlet, is a character who constantly struggles with the death of his father and the circumstances surrounding it. Torn between revenge and love-hate emotions, he suffers deeply.
MazM has created many dark characters over the years, but it seems Hamlet brings a different kind of “strangeness” to the table!😜 |

Hamlet’s design was inspired by the Hwarang, the splendid warriors of Silla, an ancient Korean kingdom. At the same time, the image of a raven was incorporated to capture the dark and gloomy “Goth” feeling—the most common interpretation of Hamlet in the Western world.
While maintaining Hamlet’s iconic “black attire,” the design also aimed to give him a unique silhouette with a hat and long hair. |

[Hamlet💀] Meet Ophelia, a pure-hearted girl who loves all living things! |
|
|
MazM has chosen to interpret Ophelia in a way that stays true to the original work. But that doesn’t mean we intend to portray her merely as a “tragic heroine”!
Instead, MazM saw her love and innocence as a deep affection for nature—especially flowers. That’s because in the Korean mythology that inspired MazM's reinterpretation of Hamlet, flowers symbolize harmony and coexistence! 🌼

Ophelia's overall design was inspired by the image of an inverted white bottle gourd flower. To add a touch of charm, pink was chosen instead of white. Sadly, among the many drafts, the design that was selected was the one that would look most beautiful when she's submerged in water... 😥 |

In Hamlet: Prince of the East, there will be increased interaction between Hamlet and Ophelia, who shared romantic tensions in the original play. You'll face various choices—from how to greet each other, to whether to abandon revenge and run away with Ophelia. Please look forward to MazM’s unique reinterpretation of Hamlet and Ophelia.❤️ |

The two rival families, who are practically at each other’s throats, are represented by the colors blue and green. You might wonder why one of them didn’t use red instead. There were two reasons behind this choice.
First, a red-versus-blue color scheme might remind players of real-world political dynamics. After all, the major political parties in both South Korea and the United States use blue and red as their representative colors. We wanted to avoid evoking specific political alignments or associations through color. Also, using red and green—being complementary colors—could be confusing for players with color blindness or color vision deficiency. |
