MazM has released several games so far, and each game has a different atmosphere. Of course, the countries they were dealing with were different!

"When I was asked to describe Victorian England through music, I was initially at a loss.
There was less classical music material from the time than I thought for reference, and although I had seen many works depicting that time, I did not want it to feel 'similar.'
So, I decided to focus more on the 'darkness' of the light and dark sides of Victorian England, and I think that direction is well reflected in the music." |

The Phantom of the Opera: A glamorous era, hidden behind the mask🎭 |

"In ‘Phantom of the Opera’, the setting was the Opera Garnier, so I think ‘unconditionally extravagant’ was in my mind. (4 bassoons!!!)
And there were a lot of classic references to refer to. I referenced many songs other than the opera ‘Faust’.
This work seems to have grown a lot in the planning stage because it had to express fear, grotesqueness, and a broken spirit." |

Pechka: turbulent modern and contemporary history🍃 |

|
"What I was most worried about was how to portray the fate of humans being swept away by the waves in the face of history through music.
However, when I thought about the background, ‘Russia, the Far East’, it was quickly resolved.
It's cold, the wind is harsh, but life is still there... I tried to express those dramatic emotions through music.
As a result, the mood of the music became much darker than previous works.
I think the features of the previous works have been further strengthened." |

Hyde and Seek: Active, modern👊 |
|
|
"In HnS, we wanted to make the overall song exciting and energetic because it included combat, time limits, and an active protagonist that had never been seen before.
So it has a more modern feel than JnH's song.
At the same time, by using JnH's songs, we wanted to show that the two games share the same worldview.
You've talked a lot about battle music,
but it's difficult to share because it's all royalty-free." |

"When I first thought of Kafka, what immediately came to mind was his country of origin,
the Czech Republic (then Austria-Hungary).
When I think of the Czech Republic, Smetana and Dvořák come to mind,
so I want to use their music as a reference.
At the same time, I'm thinking about applying the melody of a slightly sad folk song.
I'm still in the stage of trying things out." |
