Last week, we introduced the main protagonists of The Black Cat: Usher's Legacy, the twin siblings Roderick and Madeline! Today, letโs meet the supporting characters who will help drive the story forward. |

๐ Nevin Morrey is a school friend of the protagonist, Roderick. Based on the narrator from The Fall of the House of Usher, Nevinโs character has been expanded with a curious, friendly and obsessive personality. Nevin has witnessed the events unfolding at the House of Usher and observed Roderick and Madeline closely. Will he, like the narrator in the original story, manage to survive? |
๐คต Gideon Klein is the head butler who has served the House of Usher and its family for generations. He has seen the births of Roderick, Madeline, and even their father and grandfather. What secrets might Gideon be hiding as he quietly observes his master spiraling into madness? |

"Today, I had some spare time so I could made progress in Kafka's Metamorphosis, and playing it evoked some deep emotions inside of me. Such a tragic life he had... It's not suprising for him to feel like a bug, but he clearly didn't do anything to deserve it. I write too, so seeing his writing struggles make me feel I'm not alone in my struggles, and it relieves me. Because sometimes I look at my writings and hate myself for being unable to reflect what I think to them... Because it is like not being able to speak for me, my thoughts torture me to death while I can't even move my pen. However I know I'm only 16, and I should be patient to make a progress in writing. And remind myself that I am lucky to have a supportive family unlike Franz Kafka. "
